Team Leaders – Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Locations: Hockley B18 and Handsworth B20, Birmingham Pay: £13.00 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Days, 8am–8pm Vacancies: Two — one at each service Brookes HC Recruitment is recruiting two experienced, medication-trained Team Leaders for residential care services in Birmingham. These opportunities would suit someone with previous Senior Care Assistant, Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience who can confidently support colleagues and deliver person-centred care. The services Hockley: Supporting adults aged 18–75 with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. Handsworth: Supporting 13 male residents with mental health needs and behaviours that may challenge, including people who are deaf, hard of hearing or non-verbal. Your role * Lead and support colleagues during shifts. * Deliver respectful, person-centred care that promotes dignity, choice and independence. * Administer medication within your training and assessed competency, following the service’s procedures. * Maintain accurate medication records, care notes and handovers. * Follow individual care plans and risk assessments. * Adapt your communication to each person’s needs. * Respond appropriately to concerns and changes in residents’ wellbeing. What we’re looking for * Previous experience in a senior care, senior support or team leader role. * Medication training and experience administering medication. * Experience supporting adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities or behaviours that may challenge. * Strong communication, teamwork and record-keeping skills. * A reliable, compassionate approach and confidence supporting a team. * Availability to work the stated day shifts. * The right to work in the UK.
