Support Worker – Mental Health Residential Care 📍 Hockley, North Birmingham, West Midlands, UK 💷 £12.21 per hour | 40 hours per week (Days Only, with occasional night cover) Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals living with mental health conditions? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at a residential care home in Hockley, supporting adults with complex mental health needs, with a primary focus on schizophrenia. 🏠 About the Home Our main home supports 23 residents with varying levels of independence. Many residents are living with schizophrenia and may experience hallucinations. The right candidate will have experience supporting individuals with schizophrenia and will feel confident managing challenging symptoms in a busy and dynamic environment. Some residents require hoisting for mobility, and others are receiving end-of-life care, so a flexible, empathetic, and person-centred approach is essential. 🔑 Key Responsibilities * Provide day-to-day care and emotional support tailored to individual needs * Assist with mobility and personal care, including hoisting where required * Support residents through the symptoms of schizophrenia, including hallucinations * Promote independence and dignity * Work collaboratively with the wider care team and external healthcare professionals * Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning 📅 Hours & Pay * 40 hours per week (contracted) * Day shifts only, but occasional night support may be required * £12.21 per hour 🏡 Also Recruiting: Support Worker – Sister Home (Smaller Setting) If you are looking for a more intimate setting, we also have a Support Worker vacancy at our sister home, located just 10 minutes away. This home supports 13 residents with mental health needs and challenging behaviours, including individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or non-verbal.
