Activities Co-ordinator – Care Home Location: Abingdon, Pay: £13.00 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week Working pattern: Days, including alternate weekends Contract: Temp-to-perm Brookes HC Recruitment is recruiting an Activities Co-ordinator for a residential nursing care service in Abingdon. The home supports 22 adults aged 19–70 with varied needs, including learning disabilities, dementia, co-existing health conditions and wheelchair use. This is an opportunity for a creative, caring and enthusiastic person to help residents enjoy activities that reflect their interests, abilities and choices. The role * Plan and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities. * Provide individual and group opportunities that encourage participation and social connections. * Adapt activities to residents’ communication, mobility and support needs. * Speak with residents about their interests and involve them in planning. * Promote independence, dignity, choice and inclusion. * Work with the care team to support residents’ wellbeing and safe participation. * Maintain accurate activity records and share relevant feedback with colleagues. What we’re looking for * Experience in activities, care, support work or a similar people-focused role. * Creativity and enthusiasm for organising enjoyable, accessible activities. * A patient, compassionate and person-centred approach. * Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills. * Flexibility to work day shifts and alternate weekends. * Willingness to complete the required training and pre-employment checks. * The right to work in the UK. Previous experience organising activities within a care setting would be an advantage. Temp-to-perm arrangement You will initially be employed and paid by Brookes during the agreed temporary placement period, before transferring to the home’s employment, subject to successful completion of the placement.
