Brooke Glen offers unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities, and our tenured leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assessment and Referral Clinician handles inquiry calls, schedules assessments, and performs psychiatric assessments for individuals seeking help. Staff provides clinical disposition based on their findings, consults with the psychiatrist, and refers individuals to the appropriate level of care. Community resources are given, coordination of care with psychiatrists, referring agency and hospital personnel, and insurance companies are provided.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of external review organizations (i.e. Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, state gatekeep for Medicaid).
- Knowledge of patient rights, advanced directives, adult and child abuse laws, and emergency involuntary detention.
- Knowledge and utilization of crisis intervention techniques.
- Knowledge of patient assessment, family motivation and treatment planning techniques.
- Knowledge of complex patient care planning.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Skill in interacting with multiple individuals with diversified roles and perspectives.
Education
Master’s degree in social work, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field.
