About the Role
We are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and committed Teaching Assistant to assist vulnerable students, some with a variety of special educational needs, in our mainstream school. The post holder will support students with a variety of needs, including behavioural, language, physical and educational, and will help students overcome emotional regulation difficulties where needed. The primary focus is to support students of SEND and/or EAL through the delivery of supportive learning activities in the classroom, complementing curriculum delivery by subject specialists. This may include developing differentiated materials, scaffolding/questioning, and promoting success, while supporting and challenging student behaviours and maintaining regular communication between school and home.
The successful candidate will work with students who have Education Health Care plans or high levels of need. They will foster confidence, self-esteem and independence, and will receive CPD to deliver accredited interventions. The role requires advocacy for students with SEND to ensure an inclusive learning environment for all.

- Have knowledge of a broad range of additional needs and behaviours and appropriate support strategies.
- Follow general school procedures to contribute to the smooth running of the school day and support child development.
- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Interact professionally and sensitively with children, parents, teachers and external agencies as required.
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in supporting students with SEND and/or EAL is desirable.
- Ability to deliver differentiated learning activities and to adapt materials as needed.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
