My client is a mid-market commercial firm which has received various awards as an employer.

Offering services from a number of offices they have a substantial commitment to insolvency and corporate recovery work, the team being Legal 500 rated.

The market is busy and they're looking to hire a Solicitor, NQ-3yrs PQE being an appropriate level, though they're not closed to someone slightly higher than that.

2026 NQs who have had some exposure to insolvency, or possibly commercial litigation will be considered if they've the right interest and enthusiasm to specialise in this niche.

A commercial brand background would be good, but more important is having the right attitude, genuine enthusiasm for this field of law, resilience, and a willingness to learn quickly and get stuck in.

The mid-market thrives on relationships and clients can be robust, so good communication skills will be valuable.

The team handles contentious and non-contentious work, but the focus of your caseload on arrival will be the former.

With a number of partners and legal directors in the team you'll be able to get guidance and support from various more experienced colleagues which is only going to enhance your understanding and give you a decent career start.

You’ll build experience in a broad range of corporate bankruptcy and insolvency issues such as void dispositions, preference claims, share transfers, and directors misfeasance claims.

On the personal side you’ll get exposure to annulment applications, possession proceedings, property dispositions, examination applications, suspension of discharge proceedings, transaction at undervalue claims, and claims defrauding creditors, winding up petitions and statutory demands.

It is interesting stuff and you’ll be fully involved from the outset.

An exciting career opportunity with a respected regional firm. Leeds based with hybrid attendance.
