Brooke Thornham are retained by a firm seeking an experienced and motivated Employment Partner or Senior Solicitor to take the lead in the provision of Employment Law to the firm's commercial client base. This is a key role which requires strong legal expertise, coupled with a desire to generate new business through external outreach and also internal collaboration with colleagues in corporate, commercial, litigation and real estate. Full‐time or part‐time will be considered. Hybrid office attendance pattern.
You will be joining an established firm which prides itself on its supportive and friendly ethos, and which acts for an impressive client base both regionally and from further afield.
Core responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters to corporate clients and individuals.
- Handle complex employment cases, including discrimination claims and unfair dismissals.
- Draft and advise upon employment documentation, including contracts of employment, policies, disciplinary and grievances procedures.
- Deal with all aspects of the employment/tribunal process, including drafting Particulars of Complaint and Grounds of Resistance, attending Preliminary Hearings, case management steps, preparing witness statements and trial bundles.
- Liaise with company commercial and corporate departments and advise clients with respect to employment issues associated with share and asset (TUPE) sales.
- Stay abreast of changes and developments in employment law, keeping clients informed of relevant updates and implications.
- Take the lead in business development, developing and nurturing client relationships, leveraging existing networks and contacts while actively seeking new business opportunities.
- Minimum of 24 days' holiday plus bank holidays; additional days at Christmas; holiday accrual scheme after 5 years' service; and the option to buy or sell annual leave each year.
- Group Pension Scheme – 4% Employer / 5% Employee with the option to make additional contributions.
