What we need
A kind, caring individual who is empathetic to pupils with special educational needs who will supervise and support pupils during the lunch time period. The main duties of the role are:
- To support pupils during lunchtime with feeding, assisting with the use of cutlery and helping cut food as necessary
- To supervise pupils eating food brought from home
- Assist pupils when clearing plates, trays, cutlery, cups etc. to ensure tables are cleared
- Be responsible for pupils in the playground/classroom and support them with lunchtime activities
- Ensure that personal and individual care, including toileting needs of the pupils are met
- Attend to pupils that become ill and where necessary, support the nurse with administration of medication
- Prepare the dining area prior to lunchtime and clear away tables and chairs at the end of each session
- Follow appropriate training
