About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mortgage Underwriter – Second Charge to join a dynamic financial services team. You will be responsible for managing a pipeline of second charge mortgage applications from submission through to final decision, manually assessing each case with a focus on customer-centric outcomes. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, brokers, and customers to ensure applications are processed efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and underwrite second charge mortgage applications manually, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Assess customer documentation, verify accuracy, and request further information as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records.
- Evaluate each applicant’s individual circumstances to ensure fair and appropriate lending decisions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Meet performance and quality targets in a KPI-driven environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 12 months' experience in loan assessment or application processing (preferably in second charge lending or motor finance).
- Proven success working in a target-driven, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance across multiple customer cases.
