Job Summary: Brooke's work across Africa, Asia and Latin America transforms the lives of animals and people in the communities we serve. Our vision is of a world in which working horses, donkeys and mules are free from suffering and have a life worth living. We now seek a Compliance Officer to support our Fundraising & Communications (FundComm) Directorate and to meet our data protection, fundraising regulatory and contractual compliance requirements.
Day to day, you will deliver compliance tasks, maintain key documentation, provide practical guidance to teams, and ensure that FundComm activities follow Brooke's policies and legal obligations. The post sits within Legal & Governance but works closely with FundComm, Information Governance, IT, Finance and external suppliers.
With previous experience in a compliance role or one governed by legislative and regulatory frameworks, you will have sound knowledge and understanding of domestic and EU data protection and of working with large customer data. The role requires an individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively. If you have worked in a charity previously and have fundraising experience, that would be advantageous.
At Brooke, we celebrate diversity and the creative new ideas it brings. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds, in particular global majority candidates, candidates from a social mobility background, disabled and neuro‑diverse candidates, and candidates under 25 as these groups are currently under‑represented at Brooke.
We are aware that studies have shown that women and global majority candidates are less likely to apply for a role if they feel they do not meet the full criteria of the job description. If you feel you meet the majority of the criteria, we would love to hear from you.
We offer a variety of flexible working options to best support our staff and to ensure our working practices are as inclusive as possible. We may close this advert early should we receive a large number of applications.
Interviews: First‑round interviews will be held online Monday 13th April with a second round held in‑person Friday 17th April.
