As Planning Manager you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of planning projects, providing strategic advice across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and infrastructure developments.
  • Leading the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications and supporting documentation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Providing planning input throughout the development lifecycle, identifying risks, opportunities, and solutions to support project delivery.
  • Supporting business development activities, including client relationship management, networking, and proposal preparation.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members, contributing to the growth and success of the Planning team.
  • Keeping up to date with planning policy, legislation, and industry developments to provide informed and commercially focused advice.

What we're looking for:

  • MRTPI qualified, or actively working towards chartership with the ambition to achieve this during 2026.
  • Previous experience within a private sector consultancy, developer, housebuilder, or client-side environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and experience managing planning applications.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
