Salary: £28,272 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with 1-hour unpaid lunch)

The Role

We are recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor to join our clients busy and supportive team based in Appley Bridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about delivering excellent customer service while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will play a key role in managing customer orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring smooth and timely delivery of products. The position also involves handling queries, monitoring stock levels, and providing administrative support across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering telephone calls professionally and courteously
  • Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Managing direct shipments from supplier to customer
  • Placing orders with internal and external suppliers and arranging deliveries
  • Monitoring stock levels in line with demand and supplier lead times
  • Managing customer expectations and communicating proactively regarding any issues
  • Handling invoice queries and raising credit notes where required
  • Supporting across different operational areas, including specification (key accounts) and merchant & distribution
  • Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive customer information
  • Supporting the wider team with any additional tasks as required

About You

  • Previous experience in a customer service role
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Confident IT user with good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player
  • Takes ownership of tasks and sees them through to resolution
  • Experience within construction or roofing (desirable but not essential)
