About the Role

As a Supply Chain Planner, you'll play a vital role in ensuring products are available at the right time, in the right quantities and at the right cost.

Managing a defined product range, you'll balance customer demand, supplier lead times, inventory levels and commercial considerations to maintain excellent service levels while optimising stock investment.

You'll work with both domestic and international suppliers, including Far East supply routes, making informed decisions that directly impact business performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Planning & Forecasting

  • Monitor demand trends and product performance to maintain stock availability while minimising excess inventory.
  • Develop and maintain accurate forecasting and replenishment plans.
  • Review planning parameters including lead times, minimum order quantities and economic order quantities.
  • Use ERP and planning systems to identify risks and support proactive decision-making.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and take action to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and implement solutions before they affect customers.
  • Support service level targets while optimising stock investment.
  • Manage purchase orders from placement through to delivery.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
  • Expedite orders and resolve supply issues where required.
  • Coordinate domestic and international supply activities, considering freight costs, shipment timing and consolidation opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Support improvement initiatives using Lean principles, including Kaizen, 5S and waste reduction methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline planning and supply chain processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within Supply Chain Planning, Materials Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Purchasing or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, replenishment and stock control principles.
  • Experience managing supplier orders, lead times and availability risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using ERP, MRP or inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working with international or Far East suppliers.
  • Knowledge of long lead-time planning and overseas freight movements.
  • Experience using forecasting or inventory planning tools.
  • Exposure to Lean, Kaizen, 5S or continuous improvement initiatives.
