We are currently recruiting for a Court Usher to work at Salisbury Law Court. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by helping to ensure that court hearings run seamlessly and that all visitors receive a professional and supportive experience.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and setting up courtrooms before hearings (e.g. ensuring water, pads, and paperwork are ready)
- Greeting court users and providing clear directions and assistance
- Managing court lists and keeping hearings running to schedule
- Handling court files and paperwork accurately
- Recording case outcomes and updating systems
- Supporting judges, legal professionals, and members of the public throughout the day
- Providing general administration support such as file retrieval, basic data entry, replying to correspondence/emails and handling queries
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a calm, professional approach
- Comfortable speaking to people from all walks of life and enjoy providing great customer service in a fast‑paced environment
- Previous experience in a public-facing role is desirable, but full training will be provided
