ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a full-time role within a 4-bed EBD Children's Home supporting children and young people aged 8-17. The Registered Manager will have full operational responsibility for the Home, ensuring high-quality, child-centred care that meets regulatory requirements and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strong, visible leadership and day-to-day management of a 4-bed EBD Children's Home.
- Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations (2015), Quality Standards, and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare, safety, and development of all children and young people.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled and committed staff team through effective recruitment, supervision, appraisal, and training.
- Ensure care is trauma-informed, individualised, and responsive to the emotional, behavioural, cultural, and health needs of each child.
- Oversee care planning, risk management, admissions, transitions, and discharges.
- Act as the lead professional for safeguarding, child protection, and complaints.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with social workers, families, education, health professionals, and other agencies.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and well-maintained living environment.
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas, and resources effectively.
- Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and monitoring in line with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent).
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
- Proven experience managing or deputy managing a Children's Home, ideally within an EBD setting.
- Strong leadership, safeguarding, and regulatory knowledge.
- Ability to lead a full-time service and respond flexibly to the needs of children and the home.
