Admin Officer (AO) Location: Berkshire RG1 1HE

Additional information:

  • 37 hours per week, 08:30-16:30, office-based with no flexi time

Pay Rate: Β£12.86ph

If you're an organised, customer-focused administrator who enjoys a steady rhythm, variety in day-to-day tasks and real public service impact, this could be the role for you. Our Client is hiring for a reputed client in Reading-join a team that helps keep cases and hearings moving smoothly, with clear processes, shared support and opportunities to improve how things work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing papers, files and documents for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings
  • Producing standard correspondence, minutes, notes, reports and submissions in line with guidelines
  • Handling photocopying, filing, record updates and data input on an in-house computer system
  • Supporting post opening and dispatch, including accurate document handling
  • Booking and preparing meeting rooms, agendas, joining instructions and handouts
  • Carrying out operational admin including clering/assisting with civil and family courts and tribunal hearings-ensuring papers and materials are up to date
  • Serving, scheduling and coordinating documents and enquiries (face-to-face, written and telephone), including the use of chip and pin
  • Checking and verifying documents, records, accounts, claims and returns against criteria and procedures
  • Supporting workload targets for throughput and accuracy, and helping assess the impact of new SOPS
  • Producing basic statistical analysis reports and handling straightforward financial information where required
  • Providing helpful, prompt, polite "right first time" service to internal and external customers

What you'll bring:

  • Solid administrative experience (and/or GCSEs at A*-C or equivalent, including NVQ Business Administration level II)
  • Strong customer service mindset and confidence dealing with people professionally
  • Ability to stay accurate under pressure and work to procedures, quality standards and guidelines
  • Competence with computers to handle in-house systems and day-to-day data tasks
  • Adaptability to learn new ways of working, plus willingness to lift files regularly and move around the office as needed
  • A team approach, with good time management and the ability to work independently where required
