We are working with a well-regarded client who is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Payroll Advisor to join their practice team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional with strong technical expertise and excellent client management skills to contribute to a growing and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll affairs for a portfolio of clients, including complex and diverse cases
  • Ensure payroll processing is completed accurately and submitted on time
  • Prepare and submit all relevant payroll records and documentation, including real-time information and payment summaries
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients and colleagues on payroll legislation and HMRC practices
  • Liaise professionally with clients, HMRC, and internal departments such as credit control
  • Proactively research payroll-related matters to maintain up-to-date knowledge and resolve queries effectively
  • Support and mentor junior team members, assisting with training and development
  • Monitor delegated work and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and compliance
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, data protection, and health and safety legislation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll team

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience working in payroll within a practice environment
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, HMRC practices, and best practice guidelines
  • Relevant payroll qualification or equivalent technical knowledge gained through experience
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client portfolios efficiently
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to client and colleague interactions
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to research and resolve payroll issues
