Children's Residential Support Worker - Complex Needs

Location: Northampton (NN1)
Pay: Β£14.00 per hour
Contract: Ongoing Agency Work
Shifts: 12-hour Days (8am-8pm) & Waking Nights (8pm-8am)

We are recruiting experienced Children's Residential Support Workers to support children and young people within a specialist semi-independent residential service. Support is provided on a 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1 basis for young people with complex needs including Autism, ADHD, EBD, trauma, attachment difficulties, PDA, ODD, anxiety, self-harm, and behaviours that challenge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic, person-centred support.
  • Support young people with daily routines, activities and independence.
  • Manage behaviours that challenge using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
  • Administer medication where required.
  • Complete accurate records and reports.
  • Maintain safeguarding and child welfare standards.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Previous children's residential care experience.
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs, Autism and ADHD.
  • Understanding of trauma, attachment and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work day and/or waking night shifts.

Desirable

  • Physical Intervention/Restraint Training.
  • Knowledge of PACE, DDP, PDA, ODD and therapeutic care approaches.
