Position: Full-time temporary Executive Officer/Resourcing Advisor

Location: Newcastle

Contract: 6 months with possible extension

Working Hours: 37 per week Mon-Fri - Hybrid working

Pay rate: £15.39 per hour

Brook Street have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Officer to join our public sector client based in Newcastle.

The Executive Officer (EO) Resourcing Advisor plays a key role in delivering high-quality, candidate-focused recruitment services across Defra and its ALBs. Working closely with Resourcing Managers, Business Partners, and stakeholders, you'll support the delivery of recruitment campaigns, ensuring activity is timely, compliant, and aligned with Civil Service Recruitment Principles.

You'll provide clear, practical guidance to hiring managers, maintain accurate records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting recruitment campaigns from planning through to offer, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
  • Championing candidate experience through clear, empathetic communication and proactive support.
  • Advising stakeholders and promoting best practice throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Supporting onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for successful candidates.
  • Contributing to attraction and outreach activity, promoting Defra's Employer Value Proposition.
  • Responding to recruitment queries via the Resourcing Query Resolution (RQR) service, escalating complex issues and helping improve guidance and training.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports the development of a diverse, capable, and engaged workforce. This role also offers hybrid working with 3 days office based and 2 days WFH.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Civil Service recruitment experience would be an advantage.
