We are recruiting for a
Deputy Manager to join a specialist children's residential assessment service supporting young people aged
7-18 years.
The service provides short-term residential placements focused on
assessment, therapeutic intervention, trauma support and stabilisation. Young people are provided with a safe, nurturing and structured environment, alongside access to education and opportunities to participate in outdoor and adventure-based activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Deputy Manager or an experienced Senior/Team Leader who is ready to progress into management.
The Role
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the home and ensure children and young people receive high-quality, child-centred care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the residential home
- Leading, supervising and supporting residential care staff
- Promoting a positive, safe and nurturing environment
- Supporting care plans, assessments and risk management
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed consistently
- Supporting young people who have experienced trauma and challenging circumstances
- Maintaining accurate records and high standards of professional practice
- Working effectively with social workers, education providers and other professionals
- Supporting staff development, supervision and performance

- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required
About You
To be considered, you will need:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Minimum
2 years' experience within a children's residential care home within the last 5 years
- At least
1 year's experience supervising or managing staff within a care environment
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A child-centred and trauma-informed approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Unrestricted right to work in the UK
An interest in outdoor activities is essential, while relevant activity experience or qualifications would be advantageous.

£34,000 - £39,000 per annum, alongside ongoing training, development and opportunities for career progression.
