Tribunal Hearing Centre Administrative Officer (Clerking Support) - Temp Contract

What you’ll be doing
- Welcome members of the public, legal representatives, and judicial panel members in person and by telephone
- Process correspondence in both manual and electronic formats, following current guidance
- Update appeals and hearing outcomes on the database accurately and in a timely way
- Support the day-to-day running of hearings-helping ensure matters are managed on time and in line with clerking guidance, including recording of the hearing
- Draft standard correspondence and respond to customer queries so people understand the hearing process
- Support listings and scheduling, including reacting to urgent matters and ensuring judicial time is used efficiently
- Maintain strong administration and data entry standards, including secure information handling and compliance with retention/data loss protocols
- Contribute to operational and health & safety activity, including issue logging and facility checks
- Use service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost users to appropriate support, including for users with complex needs
What you’ll bring
- Strong customer service skills, with confidence dealing with the general public, legal representatives, and Judiciary
- Excellent administrative capability and strong IT confidence-Microsoft Office, Excel and Teams
- Clear, professional communication-both written and verbal
- A calm, responsive approach when handling queries on the day, including managing potential escalation appropriately
- Accuracy and attention to detail, especially when updating records and producing documents
Additional information
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (fully office based)
- Pay: £13.36 per hour for 12 weeks, then £15.59
- Clearance: Basic DBS to be processed by Brook Street
- Assignment until 31/03/27, with the possibility of extension
