Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone. Our justice system defends our fundamental rights and freedoms. Our public sector client based in Birmingham are recruiting for a court usher (Band F) to join their team as a temporary employee. This is currently a temporary role until March 2025 with a good chance of being extended. This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Your usual working hours will be around the hours of 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm. Your start and finish time will be dependent on business needs. This role is fully office based, due to the nature of the work. This role is city centre based. As a court usher you will be responsible for a smooth running of the courts. Fantastic customer service skills will be required for this role, you will be speaking with people from all walks of life. Your day-to-day duties will include: Setting up the court rooms (water, pads, pens etc) Ensuring correct schedule for the court rooms Collating court files and papers Giving directions to court rooms Recording outcomes Data entry Communicating with internal and external stakeholdersCandidates with strong face to face customer service experience will be considered for this role.
