Our NPS client requires a receptionist to join the busy team on a temporary basis. The role is full-time, Mon, Wed & Fri 9.00 to 17.00, Tue & Thu 13:00 to 21:00, 37hrs per week, £12.21/hr. Our client is based in Chesterfield with good access to transport links, with some parking on site. The role is fully on site due to its nature. This role will offer a great opportunity to work within the Probation Service and gain experience within the Public Sector.
Key Duties
- Administrative duties as well as answering phone queries, dealing with incoming and outgoing post
- General reception duties, door access, signing in/out of visitors, directing of visitors within the building, booking of rooms, stationary orders
- Printing of letters, handling of petty cash, the issuing travel warrants
- Liaising with staff and other probation users with professionalism
- Recording of alarm testing
- Acting as first point of contact for visiting facility types

Required Skills
- Good strong admin/reception experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to remain professional at all times and converse with a variety of service users
- Excellent organisational skills and experience of working in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking.
The pay rate is £12.21 per hour and benefits include holiday pay and pension scheme. Full training will be given on the systems, including the panic and escalation process, but the expectation is, you will hit the ground running. The role will require full 3 year referencing and HMPPS vetting. Due to this, the role will not be an immediate start.
