Due to continued growth, our client, a highly regarded specialist family law practice, is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join their Cardiff office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised legal professional to become part of a busy and supportive team, working alongside experienced solicitors on a range of private family law matters.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring the smooth progression of client files.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, briefs, court orders and bundles
- Preparing court applications and witness statements
- Drafting Land Registry applications, including RX1s and SEV applications
- Preparing Form E, Form H and N260 documentation
- Uploading and downloading documents via the HMCTS Portal
- Reviewing financial disclosure and analysing bank statements
- Attending client meetings and taking detailed attendance notes
- Liaising with clients, experts, courts and third parties for updates and instructions
- Taking detailed client instructions and messages for fee earners
- Attending conferences and hearings with Counsel and providing comprehensive summaries
- Managing diaries, court directions and conference arrangements
- Assisting fee earners and the wider support team as required
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Paralegal within Family Law
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures and legal terminology
- Experience preparing financial remedy documentation
- Excellent drafting and legal research skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities
- Experience using legal case management systems and legal software
- A professional, proactive and client-focused approach
