Sales Account Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and customer-focused Account Manager to join a leading supplier within the construction and building materials sector covering West Wales.
This is a field-based role focused on developing existing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering profitable sales growth across a designated territory. You'll enjoy the autonomy to manage your own customer portfolio while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring excellent service and maximising sales opportunities.
  • Identify and win new business within your territory, opening new trading accounts and building long-term relationships.
  • Increase customer spend by promoting a broad range of products and services.
  • Prepare quotations and provide solutions tailored to customer requirements.
  • Promote all current offers, campaigns and product ranges.
  • Carry out regular customer visits and proactive sales calls to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple specialist divisions to deliver a complete solution for customers.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing and support joint customer visits where required.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity reports using the CRM system.
  • Attend regular sales review meetings and contribute to strategic growth plans.
  • Achieve agreed sales, profit and KPI targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a sales, account management or business development role.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own diary and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Commercially minded with a track record of delivering sales growth.
  • Knowledge of construction, building materials, timber, plumbing, roofing or associated sectors would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
