Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a long-term temporary role within the Chelmsford Courts, working as part of a fast-paced office admin team.
Overview:
– Full-time 37 hrs per week
– Monday – Friday
– Long-term ongoing temporary role
– Pay: £12.36 – £12.59 per hour
– Location: Chelmsford
– Start date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration: Preparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings, and meetings; producing court/tribunal documents; general photocopying and filing; creating and updating records on the in-house computer system; post opening and dispatch; booking and organizing meeting rooms; supporting training courses and group activities; preparing meeting agendas, joining instructions, handouts, etc.
- Drafting: Standard letters, correspondence, minutes, notes, reports, submissions, etc., following guidelines and instructions.
- Operations: Clerking civil and family courts, tribunals, and hearings; assisting court users; supporting listing and rota management; contacting relevant parties; scheduling and serving court documents; executing warrants; collecting fines and fees; handling counter enquiries; supporting team meetings; contributing to small projects; undertaking ad hoc roles such as Jury Bailiff Officer, L+D Co-ordinator, H+S roles.
- Processing Casework: Managing case documentation, court orders, claims, fines, fees, and legal aid; ensuring accurate results and interpretation; working to workload targets.
- Checking and Verifying: Documents, records, accounts, claims, and returns for approval; ensuring compliance and quality standards; cross-checking work as needed.
