Admin Officer – Home Office

Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Admin Officer.

Location: Waterside House, Kirkstall Road, Leeds, LS4 2QB

Office Based

Pay: £13.85 per hour

Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hrs per week

Shifts (rota): 8am‑4pm or 9:30am‑5:30pm

Opportunity to be deployed to other sites across the UK, if this is suitable to the candidate\’s personal situation. Travel/expenses/subsistence will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the in and out flow of asylum customers attending their substantive interviews (08:00‑17:30, Monday to Friday)
  • Making well informed decisions for our customers
  • Demonstrate sound interpersonal communication skills and thrive working as part of a team
  • Communicate effectively with our diverse service users, taking into account language barriers and vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with teams, peers and senior management to drive continuous improvement and consistency across the directorate
  • Compliance with Civil Service and Home Office values when liaising with customers and decision makers
  • Liaising with Home Office security to build rapport and maintain close working relationships
  • Conducting Home Office systems checks prior to each interview in line with performance and quality expectations. This is to ensure customers are supported correctly and any security concerns are raised appropriately

Training

No annual leave during training period. Training duration: up to 4-6 weeks.

Clearance Level

CTC + DBS.

Role Specific Requirements

You must hold a valid passport and must have lived in the UK for longer than 3 years. Please note that a period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 3 years will unfortunately not be accepted. This role requires security clearance that will be processed for you, if successful.
