Temporary Project Control Officer
Location: Westminster (Hybrid Working)
Contract Type: Contract – 9 Months with a possible extension
Hourly Rate: £19.18 per hour
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for SC clearance or hold a valid SC clearance
About the Role
Our Government client is seeking an experienced Project Control Officer to support project delivery within the Engineering & Operations – Project Management Team. This is a key role providing essential support to Project Managers on a wide range of government-related programmes.
You\’ll be based primarily in Westminster with a flexible hybrid working model (minimum 60% on-site). This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-profile public sector organisation via our agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full project support to Programme and Project Managers
- Coordinate project documentation, meetings, agendas and action points
- Monitor risks, issues, and project milestones
- Track project budgets and provide accurate financial reporting
- Maintain project plans using MS Project
- Ensure commercial compliance including gate reviews and documentation
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support project progress
- Represent Project Managers in meetings when required
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience supporting large or multiple projects in a structured environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines
- Financially literate – able to manage budgets and produce accurate reports
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and MS Project (2007 or later)
- APM Fundamentals or PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner certified
Desirable
- Familiarity with Oracle financial systems
Contracted Hours: Full time – 37 hours/week (Monday to Friday)

- Must be a British Citizen (or hold dual nationality)
- Must have been resident in the UK for at least 2 of the last 5 years
- Will be required to undergo SC clearance (if not already held)
