Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Maintain and update client financial records, including bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
- Handle HMRC submissions such as Real Time Information (RTI), VAT returns, and other statutory filings.
- Respond to client queries in a professional and timely manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Support senior staff with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice or a similar financial environment.
- Working knowledge of payroll processes and HMRC compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Good numerical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Desirable: AAT qualification or currently studying towards it, or equivalent professional certification.
