About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a well-established children's residential home in Blaenau Gwent. You will oversee all aspects of the service, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care for young people with complex needs, including Autism, EBD and those at risk of CSE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality, child-centred residential care.
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, RISCA and inspection frameworks.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Officer and oversee all safeguarding practices.
  • Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision and development.
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect and restorative practice.

Operational Duties

  • Oversee care planning, key working and behaviour management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage reporting for reviews and inspections.
  • Manage budgets, petty cash and financial documentation.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across the home.
  • Support a homely, inclusive and emotionally supportive environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children's Residential).
  • Registered with Social Care Wales and DBS Update Service (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years' management experience in a children's home.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, RISCA and HR procedures.
  • Experience with Autism, EBD, CSE and mental health needs.
