We are looking for committed, resilient, and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join our secure accommodation team in Sheffield. You will work with young people who are either vulnerable, on remand, or serving custodial sentences. This is a meaningful role where you can make a real difference every day.

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £29,093 per annum + allowances

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (early and late shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins)

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, child-centred care in a secure environment
  • Establish positive relationships with young people and provide 1:1 and group support
  • Contribute to individual care planning and safeguarding measures
  • Participate in educational, leisure, and behavioural development activities
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team on a 24-hour shift rota

Qualifications:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Residential childcare, Youth justice, Special education, Supporting vulnerable children or adults

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Emotional resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding

Preferred Skills:

  • Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check
