Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in Cwmbran, providing day-to-day care and support to our residents while leading with compassion, professionalism, and purpose.
About the Role:
In this fulfilling role, you will work closely with management and colleagues to deliver high standards of personal, emotional, and social care. You will also take on supervisory responsibilities, support care planning, and help foster an environment that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver person-centred care and support across day shifts
- Supervise and support junior staff in creating a homely, inclusive environment
- Assist with medication management, health monitoring, and care documentation (as authorised)
- Liaise with external professionals (GPs, District Nurses, Social Workers)
- Take the lead in safeguarding, risk assessment, and care planning duties
- Build strong relationships with residents, acting as Keyworker where required
- Be actively involved in daily activities and promote resident engagement
- Uphold Hafod's values and regulatory care standards at all times
What We Are Looking For:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (essential)
- NVQ Level 3 or willingness to work towards it (desirable)
- Proven experience in a care environment (elderly care preferred)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- A compassionate, practical, and resident-focused attitude
- Willingness to support flexible rota patterns, including weekends and holidays
Desirable Skills:
- First Aid, Manual Handling, medication administration, and understanding of relevant health and safety legislation.
