Join a dedicated team as a Residential Worker in a Residential Children’s Home based in Grantham, NG31.

We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to support our young residents in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our client’s newly refurbished children’s homes boasts modern facilities designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for the children in care. From spacious bedrooms to well-equipped play areas, they have created a space that promotes comfort, safety, and growth.

Position Details:

  • Annual Salary: 24,024 to 26,000 working up to 40 hours a week PLUS an annual sleep allowance of between 2,980 and 4,960 (based on between 6 and 10 sleeps per month over 10.5 months)
  • Shift Patterns:
    • 3-week rolling rota
    • Shifts from 8 AM to 11 PM, including sleep-ins ( 47.25 per sleep).
    • Average hours: 37.5 hours per week.
    • Week 1: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday
    • Week 2: Wednesday, Saturday
    • Week 3: Monday, Thursday
  • Overtime Pay:
    • Paid at 1.25x for any hours over 30 hours per week.
    • Paid at 1.5x for covering last-minute shifts on the same day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people.
  • Maintain case files and assist in implementing care plans.
  • Promote educational activities and accompany young people on outings.
  • Handle administrative tasks and report any concerns to senior staff.
  • Ensure the welfare and safeguarding of all residents.

Essential Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing situations.
  • Full driving license is essential due to the location of the home.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in childcare or youth work.
  • Willingness to pursue the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce.
