Brook Street Social Care is on the lookout for dedicated Support Workers to join our compassionate team in the serene community of Thornbury. This role is vital for empowering our service users to achieve their goals of independence, choice, and inclusion.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will collaborate closely with clients, helping them realise their potential for independence and control over their lives. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will also be accountable to the CEO and Registered Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Personalised Support: Contribute to individual needs assessments and facilitate activities that align with clients\’ choices and goals.
Daily Living Assistance: Help maintain a clean living environment, manage laundry tasks, and prepare meals tailored to preferences.
Health Management: Assist clients in arranging medical appointments, following treatment plans, and managing finances.
Social Engagement: Encourage clients to access college courses and training programmes to enhance their skills.
Medication Administration: Safely administer medication and advocate for clients while ensuring their safeguarding.Person Specification
Experience: Previous experience in a care or support setting is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent; NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it is preferred.
Skills: A strong desire to promote client independence and inclusion, sensitivity towards their needs, excellent communication skills, flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork capacity are essential.
