Brook Street Social Care is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our compassionate team in the serene community of Thornbury. This is a part-time role with shifts from 17:30 to 22:00, ideal for those seeking flexible evening work. You\’ll be empowering our service users to achieve their goals of independence, choice, and inclusion. Plus, there are opportunities to pick up additional shifts!

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will report to the Team Leader and be accountable to the CEO and Registered Manager. Your primary purpose will be to work collaboratively with clients, helping them fulfill their potential for independence and control over their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Personalised Support: Contribute to individual needs assessments and facilitate activities that align with clients\’ choices and goals.

Daily Living Assistance: Help maintain a clean living environment, manage laundry tasks, and prepare meals tailored to preferences.

Health Management: Assist clients in arranging medical appointments, following treatment plans, and managing finances.

Social Engagement: Encourage clients to access college courses and training programs to enhance their skills.

Medication Administration: Safely administer medication and advocate for clients while ensuring their safeguarding.

Person Specification for Support Worker

Experience: Previous experience in a care or support setting is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent; NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it is preferred.

Skills: A strong desire to promote client independence and inclusion, sensitivity towards their needs, excellent communication skills, flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork capacity are essential.

Other Requirements: A driving license is desirable but not mandatory. Employment offers are subject to satisfactory references and DBS clearance. Brook Street Social Care is committed to safeguarding adults with learning disabilities
