About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care and support to young people within a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the home.
- Supervise and mentor a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Workers.
- Develop and implement individual care plans for young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Build positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practice guidelines.
- Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence.
- Participate in on-call rota as required.
Essential Criteria:
- Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Proven experience of working in a residential care setting for young people.
- Experience of supervising and mentoring staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of young people.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Children Act 1989).
