Brook Street Social Care are proud to be working with one of our valued partners who provide support and care to vulnerable adults with a profound learning disability and complex needs. An established and growing organisation, they are seeking skilled Senior Support Workers to join their team near Chorley, and are keen to seek professional and compassionate people who want to make a difference.
The role
- Working on site in the residential services, you will provide high-quality personal care and support to individuals in accordance with their care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support with leading the team of Support Workers to ensure the shifts run smoothly and care and support delivered in line with all policies and procedures and providing guidance and support where needed.
- Support clients in achieving their personal goals and promoting their independence.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable adults.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Engage with families and external agencies.
- Support the Deputy and Managers to ensure safe and effective care and support.
The ideal Candidate
- Previous skills and experience of leading teams within a residential or supported living service for adults with complex needs and learning disabilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding adults and relevant legislation.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Flexible to work on a rolling rota covering shifts between 8am and 10pm and support with on call duties. 35 hours per week.
- Flexible to work occasional weekends and ideally be a car driver.
