HMP Visitor Centre Manager – Liverpool | £38,000 per annum | Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Temporary position for a minimum of 3 months with a view to go permanent.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Visitor Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy prison visitor centre in Liverpool. This is a key management role, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-organised service for visitors while maintaining strong working relationships with staff, partners and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of visitor centre staff, including supervision, support and performance management
- Managing staff rotas to ensure effective cover and smooth daily operations
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the visitor centre, ensuring high standards of service delivery
- Liaising professionally and effectively with external agencies, prison staff, partners and stakeholders
- Ensuring policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements are followed at all times
- Handling operational issues and resolving challenges calmly and effectively
About You
- Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong experience in rota management and operational planning
- Confident in liaising with external agencies and building positive working relationships
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a sensitive and regulated environment with professionalism and discretion
