Job description

Brook Street are working with a highly reputable business in Whitchurch who are looking to hire a meticulous and detail orientated Bookkeeper.

This is a part time role, working Fridays and any other day in the week flexibly.

This role also offers a 50/50 Hybrid split.

You will manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

This role suits someone who is detail-driven, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts with accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date reconciled bank records using accounting software (e. g., Osprey).
  • Maintain organised, compliant financial records for all transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Communicate with external auditors and clients regarding financial matters.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Ensure all bookkeeping activity meets legal and financial standards.
  • Support the practice in maintaining efficient bookkeeping workflows.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliation techniques, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Osprey or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
