Senior Business Analyst - Northern Ireland Assembly

Location: Stormont Buildings, East Belfast

Pay Rate: Β£25.42 per hour (weekly pay)

Are you an experienced Business Analyst ready to play a key role in digital transformation within a high-profile public sector organisation?

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Northern Ireland Assembly's IS Office. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of innovative ICT solutions, working at the heart of a dynamic and evolving organisation.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into clear roadmaps, user stories, and impactful system improvements, helping to shape future digital services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis activities across ICT projects and change initiatives
  • Work with stakeholders to deliver digital solutions and drive business improvements
  • Develop user stories, support Agile delivery, and contribute to system design and testing
  • Analyse business needs, identify opportunities, and influence strategic decisions
  • Support project delivery, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement
  • Promote the adoption of new technologies and deliver user training where required

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience pathways:

Option 1

  • A degree (minimum 2:2) or postgraduate qualification in Computing, Information Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent/higher qualification)
  • Up-to-date PRINCE2 or PMI Agile Practitioner certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
  • At least 3 years' experience in:
    • Managing or supporting complex IT projects using formal project management methodologies
    • Delivering or contributing to organisation-wide change programmes
    • Analysing issues and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders

OR

Option 2

  • At least three GCE A-Levels (Grade C or above)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in:
    • Managing or supporting complex IT projects using formal project management methodologies
    • Delivering or contributing to organisation-wide change programmes
    • Analysing issues and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Current PRINCE2 or PMI Agile Practitioner certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)

Have an understanding of basic finance and HR processes to support the organisation replace core applications.
