Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Her Majesty\’s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is seeking dedicated Administrative Officers to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of courts, tribunals, and other justice services.
About the Role
As an Administrative Officer, you will work collaboratively within a team, performing a variety of general administrative duties that progress cases through the court/tribunal system. Your role will be dynamic, involving problem-solving, initiative-taking, and contributing to continuous improvement within our processes.
While you\’ll be based at a specific HMCTS office, flexibility to occasionally work at other local offices may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
Prepare papers and files for courts, tribunals, hearings, and meetings.
Create and update records on internal systems.
Manage post opening, dispatch, and general filing tasks.
Organize and support training courses and group activities.
Drafting
Draft standard letters, correspondence, minutes, and reports following guidelines.
Operations
Assist court users, manage schedules, and handle inquiries in person, over the phone, and in writing.
Execute various administrative functions such as serving court documents and collecting fines.
Case Processing
Process documentation, court orders, claims, and financial information with precision.
Maintain quality standards by cross-checking and verifying records.
Customer Communication
Deliver excellent customer service to the public, judiciary, and legal professionals.
Provide clear advice and assistance regarding court procedures and documentation.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: 5 GCSE passes (grades A*-C) or equivalent qualifications, or NVQ Level II in Business Administration.
Experience: Administrative experience with relevant computer skills to perform the required tasks.
Key Skills: Strong communication abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
