ABOUT US The Brook & Badger is a privately owned gastropub on the Munster Road with a reputation for its seasonal menus and high quality food. It is one of two sites led by an owner who has been a pioneer of the gastropub scene in the area and who has 40 years experience in the industry. Its doors opened in December 2025 and its sister pub Brook House opened its doors on the nearby New Kings Road in March 2019. A further sibling is planned by the owner for 2027. The Brook & Badger is looking for a hardworking and dependable Kitchen Porter / Prep Assistant to join our kitchen team. This is a varied, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working as part of a busy kitchen team. Alongside keeping the kitchen clean and organised, youll assist our chefs with preparation and help ensure service runs smoothly. The role Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, equipment and utensils Assist the chefs with daily food preparation Prepare vegetables, ingredients and basic components of dishes Help with deliveries, storage and keeping stock areas organised Support the kitchen team during busy periods and service Keep work areas clean, tidy and well organised throughout the day Follow all food hygiene, health and safety procedures About you Reliable, punctual and willing to get stuck in Positive attitude with a strong work ethic Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving kitchen A good team player who is happy to help wherever needed Keen to learn and develop new kitchen skills Previous kitchen experience would be an advantage, but enthusiasm and the right attitude are just as important What we offer Competitive rates of pay Full-time opportunities Staff meals A friendly, supportive kitchen environment The opportunity to develop your skills and progress within the team If youre looking for a hands-on role in a busy kitchen and want to be part of the team at The Brook & Badger wed love to hear from you.
