This is a rare opportunity for an experienced compliance leader to take ownership of one of the most important functions within a forward-thinking housing organisation. As Landlord Compliance Manager, you'll lead a specialist team responsible for ensuring the safety of thousands of homes, providing assurance across asbestos, fire, gas, electrical, water hygiene, lifts, play equipment and wider building safety compliance. What you'll be doing:
- Leading and developing a team of compliance specialists and technical experts.
- Providing oversight across all landlord compliance workstreams.
- Acting as the organisation’s Responsible Person for key statutory compliance areas.
- Driving compliance performance, assurance and continuous improvement.
- Using data, technology and digital solutions to strengthen compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Managing contractors, budgets, risk registers and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders and emergency services to maintain the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with all property-related statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the organisation’s designated Responsible Person for key safety disciplines.
- Oversee inspections, audits, risk assessments, and remedial programmes.
- Manage compliance records, certification, and reporting.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
- Provide expert advice on property compliance and risk management.
- Support a culture of health, safety, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Person Specification:
- Degree in a relevant discipline or substantial equivalent experience in property compliance and building safety.
- NEBOSH National and General Construction.
- Extensive experience within the residential property compliance area.
- Proactive approach to problem solving.
- Management experience and evidence of the ability to bring out the best in people, inspire confidence and respect and to measure individual and team performance.
- Experience of effective budget and financial management of resources, ensuring the provision of excellent services within the available budget.
- Data and digital capability: Experience of compliance Management systems.
- Ability to provide leadership, building positive learning and development cultures which support, motivate and develop others.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to plan and prioritise own and others’ workload.
- Good negotiator with the ability to influence others, deliver results and build excellent working relationships with colleagues, tenants, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Effective communicator who can relate and engage with people at all levels of the organisation, with members of the public and external agencies, orally, in writing and graphically.
- Positive shared problem solving approach with the ability to develop and support others to positively embrace change.
- Ability to exercise a good degree of independent judgement using their initiative to make decisions.
- Ability to manage competing demands for resources and provide proactive solutions to ensure the effective delivery of services.

Additional Requirements:
- Prepared to provide out of hours officer cover as part of a rota.

- Will need to be able to travel as part of the job, in a timely manner.
- The ability to speak Welsh is a desirable criterion for this post.
