Providing safe homes for our customers, and safe workspaces for our colleagues, is central to everything we’re doing at bdht. We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Compliance to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure that all statutory compliance obligations across our housing stock are met, whilst responsible for the Health and Safety of our employees.

Leading a small team of compliance professionals you will shape and deliver a proactive, risk-based compliance strategy that supports the organisation’s wider aims. You will be responsible for all areas of building safety including gas, electrical, water hygiene, asbestos, fire safety, and lift compliance, as well as occupational Health & Safety. The role will also ensure a strong health and safety culture across the organisation, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.

We are looking for a compliance professional with relevant professional qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, RICS, CIH or equivalent). You’ll have proven experience in a senior compliance or health & safety role within housing, property, or a related regulated environment and therefore have knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice in building safety and health & safety. You’ll also have experience in managing a range of statutory compliance areas including gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, lifting equipment and water hygiene. A strong communicator with excellent leadership and management skills, you’ll have the ability to build high performing teams and you will be confident in developing and implementing strategies along with influencing at a senior level.
