Responsibilities

This is a role for someone who wants to make a difference. You will deal with a varied and interesting caseload of predominantly householder and minor commercial schemes in the Development Management team, drawing upon your working knowledge and experience of delivering and managing applications and projects. You will be interpreting the complexity of permitted development legislation and interacting with several agencies and organisations, together with other departments across the two Councils. Your planning knowledge will help us to protect and enhance an environment of both intense Green Belt pressure and a traditional manufacturing landscape. The post includes an element of planning enforcement work. Our team works primarily from home, but you will have the option of using our Bromsgrove or Redditch offices whenever you wish.

Qualifications

  • Be educated to Degree level or above or demonstrate more than five years relevant planning experience.
  • Be prepared to work within two adopted Local Plans (January 2017) and interpret permitted development legislation.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders and departments.
