Help keep our buildings safe, compliant and working well. At Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council, our Property Services team plays a vital role in ensuring our buildings and estates are safe, functional, compliant and welcoming for staff, visitors and the wider community.

We are looking for a proactive and organised Facilities Contracts Officer to help manage the hard and soft facilities management contracts that support our corporate estate. This is a diverse and rewarding role where you will oversee property services contracts, support day-to-day facilities management, help coordinate planned preventative and reactive maintenance, and ensure that contractors deliver safe, compliant, high-quality and best-value services across offices, depots, shops, leisure facilities, parks and other Council buildings.

Management of the Utilities Contracts (gas, water, electric) across the portfolio of buildings, supported by the Utilities officer to ensure billing and consumption is accurate. Working closely with the Property Services Manager, you will maintain asset and contract information, monitor contract timelines, support procurement activity, manage help desk calls and work instructions, review contractor performance, and assist with statutory compliance checks including fire safety, asbestos management, legionella monitoring and health and safety requirements.

About You

You will bring experience of working in a property or facilities management environment, ideally within commercial or public buildings, together with a good understanding of statutory legislation, contract management, financial processes and health and safety requirements. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, analytical and customer-focused, with strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, and the ability to work flexibly under pressure while managing competing priorities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a property or facilities management environment
  • Knowledge of statutory legislation, financial procedures and contract regulations
  • Experience of contract administration, records management and/or financial systems
  • Ability to monitor contractors, service standards, compliance and value for money
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and asset management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving, analytical and prioritisation skills
  • Level 4 Facilities Management qualification or equivalent relevant building qualification, with NEBOSH General Certificate or demonstrable health and safety understanding
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Why Join Us?
