About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Brompton's Plant Quality team and play a hands-on role in ensuring that our bicycles consistently meet the required quality and safety standards and deliver an excellent customer experience.

As a Production Quality Technician, you will work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Design and other supporting functions to identify concerns, contribute to effective problem solving and help drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.

The role combines practical inspection with structured problem solving and day-to-day production support. You will inspect bicycles, assemblies and manufacturing processes, participate in containment and validation activities, and help ensure that quality concerns are identified, understood and addressed through the appropriate processes.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, curious and collaborative - someone who asks why, thinks critically and looks beyond simply identifying defects. Strong attention to detail and the confidence to communicate quality concerns clearly and constructively are essential. You do not need to know everything on day one; what matters most is a strong quality mindset, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out defined product and process inspections, primarily on bicycles and assemblies, in accordance with approved procedures and applicable standards, drawings and specifications.
  • Assess product and process performance, identify quality concerns, and initiate or support appropriate containment and escalation where required.
  • Perform product and process audits to verify compliance with SOPs, quality standards and agreed manufacturing processes.
  • Use measurements, quality data and shop-floor observations to identify trends and process variation and support fact-based problem solving and decision making.
  • Contribute to NCR, 8D and Root Cause Analysis activities through inspection, evidence gathering and data analysis.
  • Participate in First Article Inspection, PPAP, validation activities, engineering changes and New Product Introduction.
  • Work with Production, Engineering, Design and Quality teams to improve process capability, Right First Time and overall product quality.
  • Contribute to corrective and continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen and 5S, and help verify that improvements are effectively implemented and sustained.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce variation, rework and scrap while improving efficiency and customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and communicate findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain safe and controlled quality working practices, including the appropriate use of inspection equipment and prompt escalation of health, safety, compliance or product quality concerns.

About You

Hands-on and curious, with a genuine interest in understanding how products and manufacturing processes work.

Able to think critically and look beyond the immediate issue to understand causes, patterns and opportunities for improvement.

Collaborative and able to build positive working relationships across Production, Engineering and Quality.

Confident communicating quality concerns clearly and constructively, and able to challenge appropriately while remaining open to other perspectives and feedback.

Positive, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently while recognising when support or escalation is required.

Strong attention to detail, with a quality and continuous improvement mindset.
