This Buyer role is to cover a maternity leave from March 2026 to January 2027 for the P&A Category to support New Product Introduction and supplier management. Typical P&A parts are bags, clothing, helmets, tyres, decals, manuals and packaging.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Sourcing new P&A parts and suppliers
- Negotiating the best prices, payment and delivery terms
- Supporting the new P&A product development process together with Product Management, Design and Quality teams
- Seeking and realizing cost saving opportunities
- Management of POs and deliveries for samples and tools
- Ensuring suppliers perform to Brompton’s satisfaction
- Managing good supplier relationships and internal stakeholders
- Visiting suppliers if required
- Representing the Category Buying team in internal meetings
Key Skills Required:
- Good negotiator and good with numbers
- Self-driven, proactive, and practical
- Good at communication and a quick learner
- Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Eligible to work in the UK
Desirable Skills:
- CIPS qualification
Experiences:
- Ideally some procurement experiences in similar product categories or bike industry for at least 5 years
Education:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant field, e.g., Supply chain Management, Business Management, or other business-related qualification/degree.
