The Head of Tennis will be responsible for the overall development and delivery of the club’s tennis programme, with a key focus on growing both junior and adult participation. The club currently has over 350 players engaged in coaching programmes, with a clear and immediate target to exceed 450 players. This role offers the chance to make a real impact, supported by strong infrastructure and upcoming facility enhancements, including a £90,000 investment converting two tarmac courts into clay courts. This will bring the club to 4 clay courts, 2 acrylic courts, and 4 grass courts (summer). The acrylic courts are covered by a seasonal bubble from September to May, providing excellent year-round playing and coaching capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and deliver a comprehensive junior and adult coaching programme
- Drive membership and coaching programme growth
- Organise tournaments for adult and junior members
- Design and implement innovative coaching pathways from beginner to advanced levels
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Rackets and Head of Performance Tennis to ensure alignment across all tennis activity
- Manage and mentor coaching staff to maintain high standards of delivery
- Oversee scheduling, programming, and court utilisation
- Promote the programme through events, competitions, and internal/external marketing initiatives
- Build strong relationships with members, parents, and the wider community
Coaching & Delivery
- Deliver approximately 20 hours of group coaching per week
- Deliver tournaments and events to adult and junior members on a monthly basis
- Opportunity to build and grow a strong base of individual (private) lessons
- Ensure a high-quality, engaging coaching experience across all levels
Administration
- Undertake 12 hours per week of administrative duties, including programme planning, reporting, and coordination
