Children's Occupational Therapist - Experts at Hand in Bromley

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join Bromley’s evolving Experts at Hand (EaH) model and play a central part in the borough’s SEND transformation. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working to strengthen early identification, targeted intervention and inclusive practice across education and early years settings. As a School-Based OT, you will help shape a new, prevention-led offer that brings specialist expertise closer to classrooms, families and school communities.

You will deliver evidence-based occupational therapy within a tiered Universal–Targeted–Targeted+–Specialist framework, providing coaching, consultation and modelling of OT strategies in real school environments. Day-to-day practice includes supporting whole-school approaches, delivering targeted interventions, implementing therapy programmes, and collaborating with teachers, SENDCOs and families to improve functional outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• To work autonomously and without direct supervision in a defined clinical area, recognising professional boundaries and seeking guidance where necessary.
• To be responsible for a clinical caseload of paediatric occupational therapy including assessment, interpretation of assessment results, evaluation, treatment, and advice, through the use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
• To work with education partners using evidence-based approaches such as coaching, modelling and guiding to enhance capacity in the educational context and support children’s functional participation.
• To provide support and training to educational partners via modelling and setting up of group interventions, workshops, or OT surgeries when needed.
• To carry out assessments and evaluate the child’s occupational performance in context.
• To develop, plan and implement specialist Occupational Therapy treatment programmes and strategies to enhance the child’s ability to perform everyday activities.
