The predicted salary is between 72000 - 72000 £ per year.
The post holder will participate in outpatient clinics and will undertake Diabetes assessment and review including triage and caseload review. Patients seen within the service include:
- Type 1 Diabetics
- Type 2 Diabetics (complex or if need insulin from a non APCP practice)
- Type 3c Diabetes
- Insulin pump clinic, including Hybrid Closed Loop
- Pre-conception clinic
- MDTs with DSNs and dietitians (includes housebound patients or patients on complex insulin regimes given by district nurses)
The post holder will report to the Head of the Diabetes Service and the Clinical Director for Adults/UCR, and is responsible for the delivery and supervision of all aspects of the Diabetes service, in line with agreed aims and objectives. The post holder will drive best practice in overall patient care within the service.

Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Higher Qualification MRCP or equivalent
- Registration: Full registration with GMC. Name on Specialist Register in respect of Diabetes & Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine on date of taking up appointment. On the day of interview applicants must be within 6 months of CCT or must have fully completed CESR application and be fully registered on the GMC Diabetes and Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine Register. Any applications not meeting these criteria will not be considered.
- Training and Experience: Wide experience in all aspects of General Internal Medicine, culminating in award of Certificate of Completion of Training by GMC or award of Certificate of Eligibility for Specialty Registration (CESR) by GMC. Completion of a Specialist training programme in Diabetes & Endocrinology.
- Administration: Experience in day-to-day organisation of general internal medicine and endocrine and diabetes services in a busy hospital.
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
